This is a important hill for the history of Spain. Also today you have a good overlook to all the area around and up to the city of Salamanca.

You will need to park your car at the bottom of the hill (the 4x4 car road ends there). Climbing up the hill is possible by bicycle or walking. Then you have a view to all the area around - in the distance (about 11 km) is the city of Salamanca.
The monument on top of this hill is for the Battle of Arapiles. The Duke of Wellington defeated from this hill Marshal Auguste Marmont's French forces on 22 July 1812 who was on the other hill, which is less than 1 km away.
