The abstract sculpture named Large Vertical Motif was commissioned by the Joseph Shulman Foundation and created in 1987 by David Hayes. This 17' high by 10' wide 2.5 ton abstract sculpture is constructed from steel and painted black. It consists of five 1/4 inch oddly-shaped panels oriented vertically. The panels taper as they rise from ground level, reach a minimum width at two-thirds the way above ground and then increase in size.
