Amish Cemetery contains approximately 98 headstones. This is a rectangular, flat, treeless area which is well maintained. There are no drives through the cemetery. The cemetery faces CR 580 and there is no sign at the pipe gate.
All of the headstones are simple concrete markers, very similar to one another, befitting the unadorned lifestyle of the Amish. Chouteau is the largest Amish community west of the heavily Amish populated states of Iowa and Missouri. This community of about 600 people was settled in 1910. The oldest burial found here was in 1911, and the cemetery is still active today.
