Constructed in 1810 by Stephen Hopkins Smith as a gift to his finance. Funds were provided from winnings for the Louisiana Lottery. She turned him down due him spending so foolishly on the house. The house has 10 fireplaces and 10 rooms. I would presume each room has a fireplace then. The house is definitely unique for the area.

Today the house is open for visitation and owned by the Town of Lincoln.
