The Meetinghouse was built in two sections, with the rear section dating back to 1704 and the larger front section built in 1745. The Quakers of Rhode Island came to the state when banished from Massachusetts Bay Colony in the mid 1600's. First Day meetings were held in private homes until this Meetinghouse was built. Built on land owned by Eleazer Arnold, whose home is within a 1/2 mile of this location.
