Losses mount at Dublin Disney store.
The frenzy over Elsa dolls from the movie blockbuster 'Frozen' was not enough to prevent further losses at the Disney store on Dublin's Grafton Street last year.
New accounts filed by TDS Disney Ireland show that pre-tax losses totalled €249,000.
This followed pre-tax losses of €277,000 - or more than €5,000 per week - in the 12 months to the end of September 2013.
'Frozen' was released in November 2013 and has since proved a massive cash cow with demand for its Anna and Elsa dolls at an all-time high coming into last Christmas.
In November 2014, in response to the growing demand for the dolls, the Grafton Street store limited customers to two of each character from the film.
Last year, Disney confirmed that the Dublin store was in the corporation's top five most profitable stores in Europe boosted by the 'Froze'n phenomenon.
However, the new figures show that the Disney Store in Dublin will have to sell a lot of Elsa dolls before it can turn a profit.
Disney is paying a lease of €1m or almost €20,000 per week for the high profile former Laura Ashley premises.
The store reduced its losses after increasing revenues by 8pc from €5.13m to €5.54m.
The directors state that they "are satisfied with the performance of the company".
