According to the Ontario marriage registration (1915 #002174), Vera Helena Turner (maiden name) married John Edgar Turner in Westboro, 22 September 1915.

In Halifax on Sunday, January 9, 2000 in her 104th year. Predeceased by her husband John (Eddy) Turner. Loving mother of Reta McDonald and her husband Roy and the late Vernon (Bus) Turner, Jack Turner predeceased January 8, 2000 and Shirley Douglas. Also survived by 11 grandchildren. Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road, (at Roosevelt) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday in the Chapel at 1 p.m. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery.
