"Marsha Jean Corprew. 1948-2000. Marsha J Corprew, an African American woman, was appointed bu Mayor Lionel J Wilson to the parks and recreation advisory commission in 1977. She gave 22 years of quality leadership and exemplary service to our city as vice chair of tjhe commissions 1982-1999, chair person and trustee of Children s fairyland board 1977-1995. She was an outstanding educator and counselor with the Oakland unified school district from 1972 until her death on July 3, 2000."
