"Die St. Rochus-Kapelle wurde im Jahr 1637 erbaut. In dieser Zeit tobte der Dreißigjährige Krieg und die Pest raffte auch in den Dörfern des Ahrtals mehr als ein Drittel der Bevölkerung dahin. Da es an medizinischer Hilfe mangelte, blieb den Menschen nur, die Muttergottes und die Schutzheiligen anzurufen. Der Heimatkundler Klaus Hippler vermutet deshalb, dass dies auch der Grund für den Bau der Kapelle und ihrer Widmung war.
Während des Zweiten Weltkrieges wurden große Teile der heutigen Ortschaft Ahrbrück in einen Luftwaffenübungsplatz verwandelt. Darunter auch die gesamte Ortschaft Denn, die im Jahr 1262 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt wurde. Lediglich die in der Ortsmitte stehende Kapelle blieb vom Abriss verschont und diente als Munitionslager. Viele Jahre nach Kriegsende wurden etwa 300 Flüchtlinge aus dem Ermland und anderen ehemaligen deutschen Ostgebieten in Ahrbrück angesiedelt. Im Beisein vieler ehemaliger Einwohner von Denn wurde die Kapelle am 16. August 1952, am Namenstag ihres Schutzheiligen St. Rochus, wieder eingeweiht. "
