"Vermutlich stand an gleicher Stelle aber schon viel früher eine Kapelle. Denn in die beiden kleinen Glocken, die bis 1931 im Türmchen der Kapelle hingen, war die Jahreszahl 1430 eingegossen. Bei einer Sanierung und Erweiterung des Kapellenbaus um drei Meter machten diese Glocken zwei Neuanschaffungen aus Bronze Platz. Wie ein heute noch erhaltenes Foto aus jener Zeit belegt, war die Kapelle damals in einem erbärmlichen Zustand. Die neuen Glocken wurden allerdings zu Beginn des Zweiten Weltkriegs beschlagnahmt und eingeschmolzen. Aloys Hospelt baute deshalb aus der Hülse einer abgeschossenen Granate eine neue Glocke für die Kapelle. Sie wurde später durch eine kleine Eisenbahnglocke ersetzt, die zu den Gebetszeiten und Mittags schlug. Diese Glocke hängt heute noch im Turm; geläutet wird allerdings mit einer größeren Glocke aus Stahl - seit 2005 mit Hilfe eines automatischen Läutwerks. "
