"Extract from P 170-171, Historical Gazetteer and Directory of Tioga County 1887 by W. B. Gay:

A woolen mill was erected in 1824, by the brothers Artemus and Isaac V. Locey. This mill was sold to Joseph Mathews in 1838. Isaac V. Locey manufactured wool carding machinery for a series of years."
