The plaque is appropriately located at the visitor centre in Algonquin Park which is an excellent place to start a visit to the park. With 7725 square kilometers of forests, lakes and rivers this is one of our favourite parks to visit – especially in the fall.
Originally known as Algonquin National Park, although it has always been under the jurisdiction of Ontario, it was renamed Algonquin Provincial Park in 1913.
The images below show the plaque in front of the visitors centre and the view from balcony at the back.
