In Dedham, within Brookdale Cemetery, is Veterans Hill, which is an area reserved for veterans within the cemetery.

Brookdale Cemetery is the public cemetery for the town of Dedham, established in 1880. The cemetery entrance is located off a residential neighborhood. From High Street, turn onto Brookdale Avenue and then turn into the driveway at the curve. Veterans Hill is located at a high point near the north end of the cemetery.

The location is a series of concentric circles surrounding a flagpole. Near where two access roads meet is a monument with steps, and a plaque on the right side. The plaque has the following text:

"In gratitude for their loyalty and devotion this lot is dedicated by the citizens of Dedham as a resting place for those who served their country in the armed forces in time of war"

There are graves from several wars including Vietnam War, Korean War and WWII. I think that the area is at or near capacity, and that another location appears to be for veterans (though I didn't see a sign or other marker indicating this).

I'm not sure when this area was reserved for veterans (and their wives). The cemetery itself was established in 1880. Though it could have been established later, I'm using the date that Brookdale Cemetery was established.
Date cemetery was established: 1/1/1880
