The district is rather compact since it covers only .6 miles along Great Road. Most of the buildings are from the 17th century thru the early 19th century. The Eleazer Arnold House, built in 1687, is the prized home in the district and has been designated as a National Historic Landmark. Traveling north is the Moffett Mill built in 1812 served as a machine shop and a shoe lace and braid factory. At Butterfly Pond is Heartside, built in 1810 with the winnings of the Louisanna Lottery.
