It caused great excitement in the UK when it was announced that the early stages of the Tour de France would be held in England.
Stage 1 of the race started in Leeds city centre an in order to celebrate some of the utility boxes in Leeds city centre were painted to depict scenes from the route.
This one represents Stage 2 that ran on Sunday July 6th from York to Sheffield, a total of 201km.
It stands on the southern side of the Headrow at the corner of pedestrian street Lands Lane.
