The Irish War Memorials website tells us about the memorial:

Oblong granite pillar on stepped base, with an old anchor upright in front. Width appx. 200cms, depth appx 100cms, height appx.800cms.

Above the names is the inscription:

In honour of the
seamen lost while
serving on Irish
merchant ships

The shank of the anchor is the full height of the granite pillar. The left fluke is complete whilst that to the right is missing.
