Nádraží
Se stavbou nového nádraží bylo zapocato v roce 1871. Puvodní nádraží stávalo u bývalé výtopny, byla to jen malá budka, kde od 1.srpna 1858 železnicní zrízenec zacal prodávat lístky - ten den byla zahájena v obci železnicní osobní doprava. Nová budova byla slavnostne otevrena v roce 1872 a nádraží rozšíreno na tri koleje a nákladní dopravu. Na nádraží byla postavena slavobrána, na radnici se podávalo tolik vína, že se napil každý, kdo prišel. Kdo platil, nikdo nevedel. Stavbu navrhl a stavel Jirusch, otec stavitele K. Jirusche. V roce 1888 byla budova zvetšena o jedno patro.
Na podzim 1894 se zacala stavet místní dráha (lokálka) do Židlochovic. Urcite na popud cukrovaru, který tak mohl z cukrovaru v Židlochovicích privážet do hrušovanské rafinerie zpracovaný surový cukr. V roce 1895 byla lokálka dokoncena a stala se tak první lokální dráhou na úseku Brno - Breclav.
Železnicní stanice nesla puvodní název Hrušovany na Morave, od roku 1920 se jmenovala Židlochovice - Hrušovany, od roku 1925 je konecný název Hrušovany u Brna
