In Dedham, just inside the entrance to Brookdale Cemetery, is this memorial to the fire fighters of the Dedham Fire Department.
The entrance to Brookdale Cemetery is located off a residential neighborhood. From High Street, turn onto Brookdale Avenue, then, turn right at the curve. After passing through the gate, look for the monument on the right.
The monument is a light stone, riughly cut, with a plaque on it, a medallion, and an engraved symbol. The symbol is a fireman's cross with "D," "F," and "D." The medallion is similar, only with the Dedham town seal in the center, "F," and "D" on the left and right side, and "Dedham," and "Mass." top and bottom.
The plaque has the following text on it:
"[Cross - similar to the medallion]
In loving memory of all the deceased members of the Dedham Fire Department
1976"
There is a flag pole behind it.
