In Dedham, within Brookdale Cemetery, is this memorial to all the deceased members of the Dedham Police Department.
The cemetery is located in a residential neighborhood off Brookdale Avenue. The best access is from High Street. From this road, turn onto Brookdale Avenue, then turn right at a curve. After passing through the gate, the police memorial is a short distance to the right.
The memorial is a grey granite monument surrounded by bushes, and with a sidewalk leading to it from the road. On the side facing the road, the Dedham Police badge is engraved on the top. The following text is engraved below:
"In loving memory of all the deceased members of the Dedham Police Department."
On the back are about 55 names etched with the year. The latest year is 2015. Also on the bottom is the following text:
"Dedicated June 5, 1966 by the Dedham Police Relief Association."
