In November 1938, the beautiful 1883 Victorian style courthouse was razed. The new (ugly) courthouse was Finished in 1939. The new courthouse was designed by Houston County native Blum Hester and constructed by Eckert-Fair Construction Co. of Dallas.
This courthouse is Modern/Art Deco Design.
