The water tower is very easy to find, and visible from some distance when approaching town from whichever direction. It is between Apache and Cheyenne Avenues, just north of Apache, on the west side of 4th Street. As of April, 2016, it is painted white with "Terral" in red letters.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1955 (RLE) THE STATION IS LOCATED NEAR THE CENTER OF TERRAL ABOUT TWO BLOCKS EAST OF U.S. HIGHWAY NO. 81 IT IS A FOUR-LEGGED STEEL STRUCTURE SUPPORTING THE TANK PROPER, HAS A CONICAL ROOF WITH A BALL AT THE APEX AND AN OVER-ALL HEIGHT OF 125.0 FEET. THE POINT OBSERVED UPON WAS THE BALL AT THE APEX OF THE ROOF.

RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1965 (ANP) THIS TANK HAS PREVIOUSLY BEEN LOCATED BUT NO INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. A NEW DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS-- THE STATION IS THE CENTER OF THE TOP OF A HEMISPHERICAL BOTTOM ELEVATED WATER TANK, SUPPORTED BY FOUR LEGS, THAT HAS AN OVERALL HEIGHT OF 125 FEET. IT IS LOCATED BEHIND THE CITY HALL IN THE EAST PART OF TOWN.
