"Three story, brick commercial building which wraps around the oblique-angled corner of Dietz Street; retains historic fenestration plan and decorative scheme with facade divided into panels of varying widths, mainly with paired windows, but also one triple window and a single window above the stairway entrance; stairway entrance retains an arched doorway between brick piers running to overhanging brick corbel course with pressed metal bracketed cornice above; brick piers also set other sections of the facade; all windows segmentally arched with replacement sash; street level facade remodeled 1960-70 with Colonial taste entrances. Built 1881 (Inventory states 1883-1889). Builder Alfred C. Lewis. Part of this building was used as the post office from 1890 until the completion of the federal building on Main Street in 1915."
