An old water pump near the parking area for the former Zzyzx mineral spa run by Curtis Springer still stands, although it is no longer needed to refresh the bodies and radiators of throngs of faithful visitors.
A new concrete pad has been poured around the pump to preserve and protect it, even though it does not appear to be used anymore.
