In 2005, the Leicester Lions Club turned a former vacant school site into a beautiful park. They placed dramatic, life-size, granite statue of a fierce looking male lion in front of the park. The lion faces west with its head turned towards Main Street. The lion has his mouth open and teeth showing.

The lion is separated from the park on three sides by an iron fence. The base of the statue is inscribed:
