There's the clubhouse of 'Württembergischer Yacht Club', located in Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
The WYC was originally registered as Royal Württembergischer Yacht-Club in January 1911 in the register of the former district office Tettnang. The first year was started with the construction of the facility and the creation of a small clubhouse. In 1920 the Club counted 358 members.
The foundation of the club, inspired by King William II., was based on the great enthusiasm and willingness to make sacrifices for the construction of a German fleet. After careful preparations they followed in 1911 the example of Bavaria, Austria and Baden with the establishment of a private yacht club.
The first Stander, from its founding until 1935, adorned a royal crown. This character was able to hold on the time of the Weimar Republic. In the Third Reich, a ban on the royal crown was made in Stander Yacht Club. On April 28, 1944, an Allied bomb squad destroyed the clubhouse. The port of the city was heavily damaged, the Winter Shed in Seemoos - with more than 100 boats - received a direct hit.
