DE: Altwied ist der kleinste Stadtteil von Neuwied in Rheinland-Pfalz. Bis zur Eingemeindung in die Stadt Neuwied am 7. November 1970 war Altwied eine eigenständige Ortsgemeinde.
Altwied liegt im Norden der Stadt Neuwied im Wiedtal. Über dem alten Ortskern liegt die Ruine der Burg Altwied, der Stammsitz der Grafen zu Wied. Nordöstlich grenzt der Stadtteil an die Ortsgemeinde Melsbach, im Süden liegt der Neuwieder Stadtteil Niederbieber, nordwestlich liegt die Ortsgemeinde Datzeroth. Altwied liegt im Naturpark Rhein-Westerwald.
EN: Altwied is the smallest district of Neuwied in Rhineland-Palatinate. Until the incorporation into the town Neuwied on November 7, 1970 Altwied was a separate municipality.
Altwied located north of the city of Neuwied in Wiedtal. About the ancient village are the ruins of the castle Altwied, the seat of the Counts of Wied. Northeast borders the district to the local church Melsbach, the south is the district of Neuwied Niederbieber northwest lies the municipality Datzeroth. Altwied lies in the nature reserve Rhein-Westerwald.
