"Believed to have been built in the 19th century the property was originally a church school. It closed in the early part of the 20th century with the opening of the village’s “new” school in Trunch Road, but evidence of its teaching past can still be seen through the large terracotta sign by the entrance stating “boys entrance”.

From 1952 it then became a parish hall, administered by the parochial church council, before being transformed into the library in 1963"
