More than 2500 years ago, Buddha spoke of the important role the Buddhist Missionaries should play by urging venerable monks to spread the word of Dhamma. Thus the Buddha asked monks to travel and spread the supreme truth to enlighten people.
Therefore,Venerable Pallebage Chandasiri Nayaka Maha Thera established the Oregon Buddhist Vihara as a Buddhist temple in the state of Oregon to serves all those people who are interested in learning about the teachings of the Buddha.
