Lookout tower built in 1926 was torn down during the totalitarian regime. The new tower was officially opened to the public on April 4, 2015.

Na pocest významného rodáka Prof. PhDr. Františka Drtiny z nedalekého Hnevšína byla dne 11. cervence 1926 slavnostne otevrena nová drevená rozhledna na vrchu Besedná (496 m), který se nachází nedaleko Živohošte. Drtinova rozhledna byla 22 m vysoká, ve tvaru husitské hlásky. Postavili ji místní turistictí nadšenci na Besedné, kam práve František Drtina rád chodil a kde se inspirovali i jeho prátelé jako Alois Jirásek, Julius Zeyer ci Josef Suk.

Rozhledna se záhy stala oblíbeným cílem turistum. V roce 1967 však musela být pro celkovou zchátralost a nezájem úradu o pripomínku Františka Drtiny stržena.
Slavnostne se nová vež otevrela turistum v predvelikonocní sobotu 4. dubna 2015 jako soucást 7. rocníku pochodu Mrskni sebou na Besednou.
