Dobris is situated in the Central Bohemia, about 40 km to the south-west of Prague. Its history dates back to 1252. The town had very good position along the important trade route from Prague to Passau ( It was called „Golden Path“) and its thick forests were rich in game.That attracted the attention of rulers.
At the centre of the main square there is the seat of the town office – the town hall. The stamp No. 2220 shows the town hall.

Motivem na známce c. 2220 je budova radnice. Kvalitní klasicistní budova byla postavena v r. 1821 na míste starého zboreného dreveného rathauzu z let 1661 - 68. Budova s nízkou oktogonální hodinovou vížkou se zvonicí predstavuje typickou, architektonicky zcela strídmou a nenárocnou stavbu místní správy na venkovském ceském meste v 1. pol. 19. stol. Zadní prístavek ve dvore asi z konce 19. stol. sloužil snad jako šatlava. V l. 1851 - 1966 zde sídlil Okresní soud.
