This tombstone seems incomplete to us, as if the man buried here is waiting for the wife (under the Woodman Circle emblem) who was supposed to join him in eternal rest here, but she never came.

The tombstone reads as follows:

Oct. 27, 1918

Earth has no sorrow
That Heaven cannot heal."

We were curious about the blank space on the stone, so we did a little digging on Ancestry.com.

In 1917 he registered for the WWI draft in Princeton. At the time he said he was 26 years old, married, and working as a farmer on his own farm.

He was not married in 1910, and we have not been able to find a marriage record for him. Therefore, the identity of the spouse he was waiting for to rest with will remain a mystery.
