From the Sisters Ranger Station, travel generally NW on US20 for 9.4 miles. Turn right onto FR14, continue for 2.4 miles and park at a convenient pull-out. The corner bears S, about 1450' distant.
Type of survey mark: a firmly-bedded 8x10" stone; rising 6"

The following details were abstracted from FIELD NOTES of the survey of the Subdivisional Lines of Township 13 South Range 9 East, Willamette Meridian, Oregon, as surveyed by Thomas C. Judkins, U.S. Deputy Surveyor, under his Contract No. 421, dated September 23rd, 1881 p. 305 Thence run on a true line between sections 21 and 28 [S89°48'W, declination 19°30'E]; Set [at 40.03 chains] a trap stone 14x12x10", 10" in the ground for 1/4 section corner marked "1/4" on the N face; From which a pine 20" in diameter bears N12°E, 63 links distant marked "1/4 S BT"; p. 306 A pine 24" in diameter bears S55°W, 13 links distant marked "1/4 S BT"; Compare the information in the FIELD NOTES with the present observations. Found a rotted stump which bears N10°E, 40'10" distant from the stone. Found a burned stump which bears S52°W, 9'7" distant. Also found a 12" ponderosa pine which bears S68°E, 4'11" distant. There is a yellow BEARING TREE tag on the backside and a LOCATION POSTER, affixed by M.A. Palmer, on the front.
