Located in front of the Umpqua Valley Arts Association are a mosaic salmon sculpture and an interpretive display. They are part of a public art project. In 2010, community volunteers with the Ford Family Foundation’s Ford Institute Leadership Program placed eight salmon sculptures and educational plaques in the Roseburg general area. The Salmon Sculpture Project is intended to enhance Roseburg’s visibility and livability while also fostering community understanding and appreciation of salmon and their habitats. PUR sponsored the project by authoring and funding the salmons’ educational plaques.

There are at least five of these mosaic salmon sculptures created by artist Dean Allison and had final touch up by artist Kim Blodgett. The web site link below will open a page with a map of locations of most of these salmon sculptures located in the Roseburg area.
