Located near the entrance to the Umpqua Valley Arts Association building is a plaque that reads:

Roseburg-Shobu
SISTER CITIES

SISTER CITIES MEMORIAL POEM: "TANKA"
"Every spring, these cherry trees will bloom and
embrace the hearts of the citizens of Roseburg,
giving comfort and joy."
Mr. Asaichi Ozawa, Town of Shobu
This monument was founded to commemorate the start of the
Sister Cities Program between the City of Roseburg and the Town of Shobu.
A Tanka is a short poem of 31 syllables, one of the traditional Japanese
literary styles of expression, much like a Haiku, a 17 syllable poem.

Mr. Ozawa wrote this Tanka about the cherry trees planted at the
Umpqua Valley Arts Center by the Citizens of Roseburg and Shobu in June, 1994.

I don't know how many cherry trees were planted here but three of them stand right near this entrance.
