Located at the corner of Main and Cass Streets is a building which is home to the Greater Douglas United Way. At the base of the building is a citizen memorial etched into the stone face on two panels which read:
I located a local online news article highlighting the re-dedication of this building and it reads:
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Crews completed renovations on the Greater Douglas United Way building in downtown Roseburg, restoring the city landmark to its former 1954 glory.
Local contractors painted inside and out, replaced the tile work and reconstructed the aging 60-year-old building.
There to cut the ribbon was Mrs. Ilse Ricketts, whose family owned the building in the 50's when it was a music store.
"This morning we were able to dedicate the building back to the community of Roseburg and Douglas County," said Bryan Trenkle of the Greater Douglas County United Way, "As well as dedicating the building in honor of Charles Rickets and the Rickets family for all of their hard work and dedication to the community for over 5 decades."
The project was funded using reserve funds from the city's downtown facade improvement program.
"They did a great job of remodeling it, or bringing it up to code. It looks nice, it's wonderful," said Ricketts.
