This Battle was part of the Chattanooga Campaign and is preserved and maintained as part of the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park. The regiment was commanded by Col. Jason Marsh. This marker is located on S. Crest Road, Missionary Ridge, Chattanooga, TN.

Short Physical Description

2'6" x 1'2" x 2'6" high rectangular slab of dark Quincy granite. Rock-faced sides; polished & inscribed front. "Illinois" is in large raised letters on beveled top. Marks unit's position on November 25, 1863, at 5:00 p.m.

Marker located at 195 South Crest Road/1934 Map 141 on Missionary Ridge.
