The family name, "Snyder", is on the plinth, with this inscription:

Charlie C.

Son of
M.C. & E.J.
Snyder

Born
Jan. 26, 1887,
Died
June 12, 1908.

---

He followed virtue,
as his truest guide,
Lived as a Christian,
as a Christian died.

--

At the top of each of the three remaining sides is a depiction of three oak leaves with an acorn. Interestingly, Mr. Snyder died just months before his son, Charles Columbus Snyder, Jr., was born.
Was the inscription legible?: Yes
