This building is now occupied by Marine Bar, but it was once a school in the 19th century.
St. Edmund’s School (1860 – 1890) occupied the premises in St. Edmund’s Terrace, the now reopened Marine Bar. This building was used as an hotel when it was first built, then it became a school, a Dominican Convent, then the Buckingham Palace Hotel and now is the Marine Bar.
Green plaque marking the building's history. From 1860 it was a Girl's School. From 1890 a Dominican Convent.
