In Plymouth, on the town common, is this fountain of a boy scout, which is listed in the Smithsonian Art Inventory.

The sculpture is located in the town common, along a walkway running east-west through the park, bounded by Main Street, Highland Street, and Post Office Square.

The sculpture has a boulder base and a bronze figure on top. The figure is of a boy in a scout uniform, kneeling. His head looks downward as his hands are cupped. There is a fountain spout in his hands. On the boulder, to one side, is a small plaque that says:

"Daniel Webster Burrows
To His Boyhood Home
George H. Borst Sculptor 1933"

A listing for the sculpture has the following about it:

Sculptor: George H. Borst
Founder: Gorham Manufacturing Company
Dedicated: June 18, 1933
Approximate Size: 37 1/2 x 18 x 37 on a base approx. 53 x 54 x 82, including 18 in. trough.
Remarks:
The idea for the fountain originated with George C. Clark and an inheritance bequeathed to him by his cousin Daniel W. Burrows. The concept for a scout performing an act of kindness to animals was suggested by Morton Wheeler, a local Boy Scout, who along with Harold Webster modelled for the sculpture. Mrs. Charlotte Webster worked out the idea for the sculpture. Mr. Clark commissioned his friend, George H. Borst to create the sculpture. It was cast by Gorham Company. The statue is reportedly the first bronze statue of a Boy Scout to be erected in the country. The sculpture is covered during winter months.

The sculpture was not covered while I visited. It appeared to be in good shape, though I cannot confirm whether the fountain part works or not.
