On 27th October 1940, a bomb dropped in Happisburgh Churchyard blowing out most of the Church windows. In September 1951 a service was held marking the restoration of the Church, and St George’s Chapel and window were dedicated to those who lost their lives in the war.
The inscription on the window reads:
