The first building was erected in 1803 but burned down in 1843. It was rebuilt in 1844 and demolished in 1899. That same year construction works began and the actual church was inaugurated in 1902. The architect and designer was Joseph Venne. The building is 204 ft long and reach 190 ft.
In 1902 three bells were placed in the steeple, the oldest one ¨Joseph-Sophie¨ was taken from the church demolished in 1899, a smaller one ¨Léon-Paul-Euclide-Georges¨ weighing 900 lbs and a larger one ¨Marie-Joseph-Anne-Antoine¨ weighing 1,900 lbs.
A Casavant et frères pipe organ was installed in January 1903. The pipes exceeding 3ft have tin openings and are made of zinc from Belgium.
The inside has been restaured in 1987 and can accomodate 2,000 persons. On October 7th 1993, the church was consecrated by the bishop of Saint-Jérôme.
The priest of this parish is Urbain Mumina Balel'ende.
