EN: The cemetery of Obergösgen is located on the north and east side of the Roman Catholic church in the village center.
The site contains about 200 graves and a small cemetery chapel.
The cemetery existed probably since the Middle Ages, the exact age of the church is unknown. In the 19th century the cemetery appeared in a side note of history: At the peak of a long-standing dispute about the church finances Obergösgen decided in 1887 to bury no more inhabitants of Winznau in this cemetery, which resulted in the separation of the parish and establishment of an independent parish Winznau.
DE: Der Friedhof von Obergösgen befindet sich an der Nord- und Ostseite der römisch-katholischen Kirche im Dorfzentrum.
Das Gelände enthält etwa 200 Gräber und eine kleine Friedhofskapelle.
Der Friedhof existiert wohl schon seit dem Mittelalter, das genau Alter der Kirche ist unbekannt. Im 19. Jahrhundert tauchte der Friedhof in einer Randnotiz der Geschichte auf: Auf dem Höhepunkt eines jahrelangen Streits um die Kirchenfinanzen beschloss Obergösgen 1887 keine Bewohner von Winznau mehr auf diesem Friedhof zu beerdigen, was zur Trennung der Pfarrei und Gründung einer eigenen Pfarrei Winznau führte.
