Deactivated and the airstrip is currently used as an air freight depot, sheriff's heli base, and National Guard training.
It is also the site of a V A hospital, a blood bank laboratory, an athletic center.
Most of the old streets had to be redesigned to meet current county standards (about 1996). The county gained an 18 hole golf course.
The public gained access to vernal pools and a remote control airfield.
