Washington DC is only present for a maximum of 300 feet along the bridge's westbound lanes. It's even shorter for the eastbound lanes.
On the bridge, you can stand in 3 places at once! U.S. interstate 95 uses this bridge to get over the Potomac River. To the west, you can see The Washington Monument, The Capital, and the Lincoln memorial. The sign features a cardinal, the state bird and an icon, sitting on a willow tree branch. It is place about 15 feet above the freeway. There is a walkway on the west side of the bridge if you want to get up close. This Virginia welcome sign is located on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, near Washington D.C.
