Located along West Cliff Drive is a surfing sculpture which was created in 1991 by artists Brian W. Curtis and Thomas Marsh as a dedication to all surfers - past, present, and future. There's a nearby plaque monumented on a low-lying boulder that reads:

THIS MONUMENT IS DEDICATED TO ALL SURFERS
-PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE.

THE INSPIRATION CAME FROM MEMBERS OF THE
SANTA CRUZ SURFING CLUB, FOUNDED IN 1936.

FULFILLMENT OF THIS DREAM WAS THE WORK OF NUMEROUS CITIZENS
RECOGNIZE THE SIGNIFICANCE OF SURFING WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY.
