This display has about 50 different small plastic squares, with holes in the center so you can see through it to the ocean. It makes it easier to compare the water to the color. The numbers correspond to a chart which tells you the micro bacteria such as cyanobacteria and algae. It helps explain the color you are seeing. /
Scientific Principle(s) being demonstrated:
Water pollution

Briefly explain if the experiment was effective for you. Could it have been better?:
It was effective. Lots of variations of color to choose from. May be hard if you're colorblind, but luckily I'm not.

When is the apparatus/experiment available to the public:
24/7
