The family name, "Gross", is on the plinth on just one side of the headstone. The monument is of white marble, topped with a prominent cap and a cross, as this is a Catholic cemetery. The inscription is below the death mask, and the remaining three sides are void of any inscription.
Two footstones are in the plot. One for Philip, "Philip Gross 1842-1898" and the other for his wife, "Catherine Gross 1844-1930".
