The plaque says, "Built on former mission land in 1932 with funds donated by Gladys Sullivan Doyle, this building was designed to house the original mission artifacts - paintings, sculptures, and ceremonial vestments and vessels. It was built as a reduced scale building / replica of what was though to be the original design of Mission Santa Cruz."
