This weathervane is mounted on top of a dome on the roof of a building at the junction of Jesus Lane and Bridge Street in Cambridge.

The image is of a cooper (barrel maker) hammering a barrel. The lower part of the barrel is complete with three hoops, coloured gold in place. The staves, at the top of the barrel are still splayed open waiting for the final hoop to be put in place. The shape of the cooper acts as the weathervane's sail. Apart from the hoops, the direction arrow and compass letters that are coloured gold the rest of the weathervane is black.

It is not known wheter a cooperage existed on this site or whether a brewery stood here that may have had such a weathervane.
