This modern lighthouse was constructed in 1995 and is easily accessible in a car park in the town used by local line fishermen.

It was constructed as part of a plan to revise the coverage of the Canary Islands by lighthouses.
It is of a modern design with a 27 metre (89 feet) high tower of open metal framework with a central open staircase.
The light pattern consists of a pattern of two flashes of white light every seven seconds and has a focal height of 31 metres (102 ft) above sea level. The light can be seen for 16 nautical miles.
